Participants supplemented with nucleotides experienced reduced post-exercise drop of salivary immunoglobulins M and A for up to 7%. Salivary nucleotide supplement had an acceptable safety profile with no incidence of side-effects reported. Exercise can be employed as a model of the temporary immunosuppression that occurs after severe physical stress [3, 4].
